Guys,

Please help qith advice or tips.

Im moving to Spain next month, Calpe to be precise. I am flying to Alicante airport but then will obviously need to transfer from there to Calpe. What do yous see as being the best way to do this, its around 60km from Alicante to Calpe so maybe a little expansive to do it in taxi? I do drive, so i could rent a car but if i could avoid doing so i would prefer it as im not to sure how i would do driving over there if i ve not done it before in the past, ha. Does anyone know if there is any kind of bus service that runs from Alicante airport to places such as Calpe?

Anyway, id be interested to hear how you guys would do it?

I would say the quickest and most easiest way would be to hire a car.  However I’m thinking that they may be a train from Alicante ... ahh yes just googled it and there is (past the this link into your browser)...

thing is you’ll most likely have to get a cab from the airport to the rail station.

I had thought of hiring a car but im not that keen on the idea, the other option is im sure there is a shuttle that runs from the airport to calpe, that may be a better option.

Hi, I recently moved to Albir, which is on the same bay as Calpe. There is a good bus service from Alicante airport to Benidorm, and a very cheap bus from Benidorm to Altea (about 1 euro for the trip). Then a taxi from Altea to Calpe (probably about 5 euros). There are also specialist people who do airport transfers. I will have a look later tonight in local news agent and put telephone number up. They charge about ?30,00 from Alicante to Albir, Calpe not much further.

what date are you arriving? I am going over on the 8th and then up to Benissa (close to Calpe) so would be happy to give a lift.

There is a good bus service right up the coast from Alicante centre. You can get a bus from airport to the centre or take a taxi.

Guys, thanks so much for the feedback and offers. I have been doing a bit of homework myself, there is a place on the web that i think one of you mentioned, its a shuttle service for 30 euros, i ll probably end up opting for that i think.

Do either of you have any good hints, tips or info on calpe that will make me happier about my move there?? If so, then that would also be very much appreciated.
