Hi all, we are planning to spend a year in Granada and am looking for advice on areas to live.
We are doing a investigation visit in October and would like to have some input in regards to suburbs that people
can recommend. We are looking for a 5 bed house that is withing driving distance(10km) to central Granada.
As I said we are traveling out for a visit in October and would love to have a few ideas of places to look at.
We have two children 3 and 7 so this also comes into the equation.

Hi there,

We moved to Monachil (about 10kms outside of Granada) last October, funnily enough, from Barcelona.  There are a few villages, towns, scattered around the outskirts of Granada, as I said we live in Monachil, great little place, up a mountain, but very easy access to the Barrio, Pueblo and Granada itself.  Cajar, La Zubia, Huetor Vega, Cumbres Verdes (a bit higher than us) are also very close to the town.  it was the best move we ever made….we have four children, 19, 18, 2 and 1!!!  and live in a converted seven bedroomed house overlooking the Sierra Nevada, not bad really!!!  We have it all, a great city, great views, great life…good choice on the area.  Don?t know of any houses to rent (only to buy!!), sorry, but sure there are loads of websites on the area who may be able to help you on that score.

If I can help in any other way, just yell.

Good luck with everything!
