I have lived in Spain for 4 years. I do not have a residencia, but I do have an NIE number.
I have been married to a Spanish man for 3 years. We have a libro de familia. My only forms of identification are my passprt and Spanish driving licsence. Could I get fined if I am stopped by the police for not having sufficient ID. Am I entitled to a DNI Spanish identity card? If so how do I get one? Or would a residencia be ok?

I am unsure if you are entitled to a Spanish DNI by way of your marriage. (good question!)

If you are an EU citizen (you dont state your nationality) the residencia card is no longer issued - its replacement the Certificate is not a form of ID anyway but if you are not (?) entitled to DNI you should still apply for it.

If you cant get DNI you are now stuck like the rest of us without an ID card!
