Hi, We were run off the road by a mad (Brit sadly!) in a Spanish reg car - who then ran off and fled the scene. We only have 3rd party - and are still waiting for the police to give their report and get our repairs done. The officer at the scene told us that even if the owner of the other vehicle had not given permission to the driver to take their car - and therefore their insurance would not pay out - a small proportion of everyones insurance in Spain goes to a central government fund and in cases like ours - where a crime has been committed - there is a ‘100% chance of us getting a pay out from that’. But even our own insurance co have not heard of this insurance/scheme. Does anyone know any more about it (as it is looking like the other insurance co will not pay).
Thanks in advance..
