We Are In A Bit Of A Dilema Here, We Are Moving Over To Murcia In July For Good But Have Been Told We Need To Register The Kids In School Which We Intend To Do But When We Move Over In July We Will Be Renting Before We Buy We Therefore Will Not Have “A Place Of Residence” Which You Need To Obtain A “Padron”

Any Sugestions Would Be Greatly Appriciated

                                                Thank You

Hi There, we are in the same situation.  Moving to Xativa and we are going to rent initially.  We may not be able to get out to spain untill June, July this year but as the schools are closed for holidays then, and everything closes in August, do we have to wait
untill September to register into schools.  I have also read that you have to take the school they offer you is this correct?.

We Were Told We Had To Register The Kids In School In April Which We Are Intending To Do But We Are Not Actually Moving Over To Murcia Until The Kids Are Finished There Year In There School In England, So Therfore We Do Not Want To Begin Renting A Property Until We Go Over For Good In July, So We Will Not Have A Rental Contract Or A Utility Bill When We Intend To Register In April

                              Any Ideas Would Be Appriciated.

Yes it is very frustrating but not much different from the English system of registration if you are moving areas. I am going
out again in April to look for a school and then take it from there.  The problem is the spanish long school holidays and everything
closing for 3 months.  I will keep you informed of any progress i make but i think it is going to be a ‘go with the flow’ situation which is difficult with children. Let me know if you have any progress.

Good luck
