I need some information please on the following situation.
I am currently employed but want to stop work this year as I will be 65.
My accountant tells me that I am only covered for 90 days after I stop
paying my Social Security and then will need private medical insurance!!
I feel sure that this information is not correct - can you advise me
please.

Surely you now have pensioners rights and access to the Spanish national health system? Suggest you make enquires at: your local Seguridad Social office or Health centre.

Also for anyone else reading what is the time factor if you are under 65 and stop being employed.
We have had SIP cards for nearly 5 years now, what hapens if we don’t work ?
How long would we keep the right to free Spanish health care ?

I think the answer to that depends on your age and reason for not working ie made redundant = more time covered.
