Hi. My name is Matt. My wife, Asun, and two sons (10 and 12) are moving to Granada around the first of August. While we are hoping for an experience that includes speaking and learning a lot of Spanish, I am also interested in meeting some other English-speaking ex-pats with whom to share a conversation and cup of coffee or pint of beer. Are there any other families in the Granada area with children around the same ages as mine? If so, I’d love to hear about schools, activities, and the like. We’re looking pretty seriously at some of the pueblos just to the south of the city - La Zubia, Huetor Vega, Armilla, Cajar. Any thoughts on that?

I look forward to talking with you all.

Matt

Welcome - we have a holiday house in the Granadan Alpujarra and know the city and province reasonably well.  You might want to look at my blog every now and then - link below - as I often put stuff that’s pertinent to Granada on it.  We may not be able to help much, but if we can, please do get in touch.

Hi

We live just outside of Granada in Monachil Barrio.  Been here about 18 months now and wouldn?t change a thing, well, perhaps to speak much better Spanish!!  Poco a poco!!  Afraid our children fall either side of yours, 20yrs, 19yrs, 3yrs and 21 months!!  Big difference!  However if you want any info, or just fancy meeting up when you arrive, you are more than welcome to pop round for a natter and of course the obligatory alcoholic beverage! Just PM me!

Hope you have a good trip over.

Bye for now
