We have been holidaying in Spain now for a few years and really do like it. So far its been in the Costa Del Sol , our next trip will be to Costa Brava . It looks really beautiful, warm but a bit greener that the Costa Del Sol . We think we will end up moving here and look for suitable areas that would suit both our interests, which are walking,  golf and dogs. We have 5 boxers, which my wife shows . Does anyone know awhere we can find out about boxer dogs and showing in the Costa Brava/Costa Del Sol regions.

Hi!! Nothing really to do with your post, but I always had Boxers back home in the Uk. I know you’ve been Spain before, but just thought Id say…...Have you seen the size of the Boxers over here?? Some are the size of Great Danes!! They are like Genetically Modified Boxers I kid you not! 5 Boxers eh?? You’re a very lucky person I would love that!! I can also imagine you get quite worn out having 5 of them! Blimey! x

They are quite a handful but a very friendly bunch . I was wondering how they would cope with the heat, suspect they would stay in a lot during the day .

How long have you been you been in Spain and where did you end up if you dont me asking.

Cheers

David

Since arriving herewe have bought a dog from a rescue centre. hes just a mutt but adorable all the same. He is spanish so should be more used to the heat than us, but he sleeps all day due to the heat and comes alive all night. We are in Madrid so its no where as exciting as where your looking at. Boxers with their short hair shouldnt find it too bad and will just need a bit of time to adjust to the heat…..a bit like yourself!! Im really not sure how it would work, showing dogs. Im sure there will be somewhere that does it. But in Spain dogs get very little respect. People have been taught that dogs and other animals have no souls…thats why they’re treated quite badly, and the laws about animal cruelty are, sadly, not like they are at home. x x

Yep, he`s definitely a Spaniard.

In my town down south there has been a huge increase in dog ownership, seems everybody has one of those yapping little rats.

Trouble is they all seem to use the Oasis`s on the beach as the dog turd disposal location, everyday a dog can be seen peeing up against the the sign asking for no dogs allowed whilst being watched by there owners.

I`ve own Springer Spaniels in the UK, but in the South here I don`t see the appeal, the smell in the apts must be horrid.

In the North dogs are still treated as working animals, most owners have them kennelled outside and tend to be owned by farmers.
