You need all the things you would in the UK.

Plus be fluent in Spanish language.

It depends on where you want to live, what kind of schooling ,what kind of property.
You dont need fluent spanish.
Cost of living here is cheaper then in England.
If you can dont sell your house rent it out,i sold my house and regretted it,i had to return to
the UK for personal reasons and had to rent as could not afford to buy.

I wouldn’t recommend Torrevieja, so many much much prettier places in Spain! Torrevieja is really industrial and in winter the weather isn’t all sunshine. If beach is a must then I would head south or even go to the Barcelona area. Although both still have a winter (of some sort), the Costa Brava is lovely as are some of the areas East of Malaga (towards Nerja and so on). Anyway, think about it long and hard, even though the cost of living here is cheaper the salaries are much lower too and you will need Spanish in most jobs or businesses unless you’re doing business with the UK etc remotely.

You dont need fluent spanish.

Yes you do.

You can live in Spain without much of a grasp of the language, that’s true and a big mistake Brits make.

Don`t be lazy, do as other EU nationals residing in a country, learn the language, its only once you`ve learn`t it do you realise how much more you achieve.

There are many people in the UK becoming Barbie, which is Buy Abroad Rent Britain.

There are still possiblities to purchase in Eastern Europe, around Croatia, Macedonia etc that have Med climate and resorts at low cost.

The hop being that in a few years there prices will increase enough to use to purchase in the UK in the future.
