Hola everyone! My husband and I are staying in a friend’s house in Madrid in August for a couple weeks while we look for a place of our own. He has told us the house doesnt have air conditioning. Does anyone know if AC window units are available in Spain? We are happy to purchase one but if not we will find somewhere else to stay in the mean time. He does not live there full time and doesn’t know if these units are available. In texas, they cost anywhere from 300-500$ and can be placed in any window that opens. Thank you so much for your help!!

Hi,
Have been digging around and come up with nothing in the way of window mount aircon units.

Out here there appear to be just two types, the split units with separate internal and external modules, with prices starting from around 350? plus installation costs, or the portable ‘wheel it from room to room water evaporation type’ prices of which range from around 100? to 400?.
We have both examples; the wall mounted units are very expensive to run, having a built in refrigeration unit consume up to 3Kw, we use the portable unit to keep one room cool for two of our senior dogs, this unit consumes only 80w and is relatively efficient.

Both types are available from major stores like Carrefour and El Corte Ingles, or from Electro-Domestico agencies.

Hope this helps.
