Does the improvement in the exchange rate between the GBP and the Euro make any difference to your thinking about leaving the sunshine of Spain and moving back to the cold, wet and misserable UK. If not, what is the real reason to make the move back.

We all hear that it is now very expensive to live in Spain given the drop in the number of Euro’s you get for your Pound, but since the start of the year there has been a 25% improvement with the rate being around 1.26. The cost of living in the UK has also risen by around 4% in the last year and with VAT being 20%, then is it still worth trying to return to the UK.

We are finding that with the increase in the rate, then more people are now looking to make the move to buy in Spain. This is mainly because of the drop in house prices to almost what they were in 2006 and the improvement in the exchange rate.
