Hi, I am near Motril.

I need front and rear bumper for my Ford Mondeo Estate, 1999, Diesel. Does anyone know anyone who is breaking one or know of a scrap yard near Granada etc?

There is a desguace (scrappies) on the A92G eastbound between Santa Fe and the A92G / A44 junction Granada. Easily identifiable by the rotating car on top of a all pole, located just before the ITV station where the A432 joins the A92Gseems to be very popular.
There is another one just opposite, westbound A92G, but that one doesn’t seem to get as much trade again identifiable by a car on top of a tall pole.

Yet another scrappies on the Granada Airport service road from the A92…

Yet another and this is always my first choice (because its close to home and very good) is located at Cijuela, just off the A92 near Granada Airport.

Check out Google maps https://maps.google.com/, type in Cijuela, Granada, Spain. Look at junction Km225, the desguace is located to the south of the junction, exactly where the map says GR-SO-07. In fact if you increase the default scale of the map to near maximum the desguace is identified… ‘Desguace Ivercard 2002’ Telephone No is 958340027

Google translate says the Spanish for bumpers is ‘paragolpes’ which kinda makes sense!

Not a problem… Good luck I hope you find what you are looking for.

As for the dogs… we managed to rehome four of our original pack of ten abandonados and to be honest it broke me up having to do so. Two more were released into the care of a local refuge some 10 kms away but both escaped and came back ‘home’... We currently have six and frankly I couldn’t part with any of them! I just keep the signature up there as a reminder to visitors to the forum that there is a very real problem here in Spain that is not helped by either officialdom or the Spanish Veterinarios who will not perform a spay op on female dogs and cats until after their first season and in the case of abandonados by then its too bloody late… it’s something I feel very strongly about…

Yes me too. The vets are a pain. I am trying to get a Spanish led initiative going here. It is what I had to do in Africa but then-you expect it there. Spain is in the EU and should abide by standards of civil society. I know we have different cultuers but care of thiose that cannot care for themselves is a universal ethical standard!!! the Spanish don’t have much pride to sit back and let ex pats take the lead on this!!!

Two local (Granada) agencies are trying very hard to do something about the situation, the first is an offshoot of the second…

http://amigosdelosanimales.org.es/

Both pages react well with google translate.

I have dealings on a fairly regular basis with both these organisations and both have access to English speaking volunteers.

Have sent you a pm…

Sarah Hi…

I have deleted your post… you will probably get spammed left right and centre if it stays on the board.
