I am a gay USA citizen who currently lives in the United States.  I spent 2 years studying in Spain where I met my partner who is a Spanish citizen.  He currently lives in Madrid.  We’ve been apart for a little over a year and are desperate to reunite.  We’ve discussed marriage and believe that this may be the best option for us.  I just want to know how easy it would be for me to gain Spanish citizenship/work rights through marriage.  I am not willing to give up my USA citizenship, but am open to dual citizenship if allowed by both countries.  Since the USA does not recognize gay marriage in most states, I assume we would have problems if we ever moved back to the states.  PLEASE HELP!!
