Hello to all!

We’re new to this site and looking for as much advice and views as possible on moving to Spain.  As a brief introduction to where we’re at currently - we’re a family of 5, including 3 kids aged 2, 4 & 6.  Peter works as a Project Manager in the Defence Engineering sector and Emma is currently a full-time Mum, but looking to return to work when the kids are all at school.  Basically, we’ve had enough of the UK - rising crime, so many social issues, high taxes and a generally stressful lifestyle.  After visiting the south of Spain for the past 4 years, we’ve all grown to love the country, the people and the lifestyle, so we’re seriously considering moving to Spain in the near future (1-2 years), though probably along the North coast as we fear the climate will be too hot in the South in the summer months.  Emma speaks Spanish fairly well, having lived there as a nanny for a year when she was much younger.  Peter can smile and say Hola, but that’s about it!

Anyway, that’s enough about us.  What we’re here for is to learn as much as possible from others that have already made the break and have settled in Spain.  We wont ask all our questions here - it’s probably best if we peruse the forums fully first then start posting in them as appropriate.
