Hello everyone,

My husband has the opportunity to work at the US Embassy in Madrid.  Any advise on living in Madrid would be greatly appreciated.  We live in Beijing now so we are not new to the expat life but we would be new to Europe. We’ve spent most of our time in Asia. 

My main concerns are safety/security, schools and housing.  I have two children, one in middle school and one in high school who will graduate while we are there.  Where do most of the expats live that have school aged children?  What’s the housing like?  How is the morale among the expats and their children?  What’s the social life like?  How’s the pollution and traffic?
