I have just returned from a visit to some clients (yes we do after sales service!) and they told me their son is flying in from the UK tonight and going to their local Spanish dentist tomorrow as the cost of the treatment he needs (bridge work - unavailable on the UK Nat Health because they say it is cosmetic - he lost his teeth thanks to a cricket ball) is 4 times cheaper than in England! and then he is flying back tomorrow afternoon.
My old dentist bought a new practice 2 years ago because of the people that where coming from the south of Ireland for treatment, the new practice he set up also had a second surgery where a dental surgeon came down to do implants.
Spain is not the only country the British have been going to, and not only for dental work but for cheaper surgery, Bulgeria, Poland, India to name a few.
In saying this I changed to another dentist because I started to get the feeling my dentist had lost interest in doing good work on my teeth, the dentist I use now costs a lot more and his prices are fairly close to what I would pay in the UK, but I feel he is more dedicated.
Not that I didn’t like my old dentist, used to have some great chats with him, but then it is my teeth that are more important than the chats 😊
