Greetings all,

I just moved to Madrid from the US and I brought several electric and electronic items with me (DVD player, hair clippers, baby monitors, etc).  I understand that I need voltage transformers to use these items here, but I’m having a difficult time finding a store in Madrid that carries them.  The only place I’ve found them so far is from companies online (travelelectronics.com, walkabouttravelgear.com), but I prefer not to pay for international shipping.

Can anyone recommend a store in or around Madrid that would sell voltage transformers to work with US equipment?  I’ve had no problem finding plug adapters, it’s just the transformers I need.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!

Try an industrial tool supplier, generally speaking the requirement is for portable tools a construction site to no greater than 110V, hence there is a big market for these tools and the transformers are required..

Thanks for the info, Mike.  The items on eBay look promising.  Related, a friend suggested I try heading over to Calle Barquillo in downtown Madrid.  He advised there were a number of shops on this street that specialize in electrical and tech gear.  Anyone have any experience with the stores on Calle Barquillo?

Thanks,
Greg
