Hi

Me, my husband and our 3 kids and the dog - a lassie collie, aim to move to the Mar Menor, Cartagena area in time for the next academic year in September 2008.  We can move out as soon as July but definitely need to do it by August.

We have already looked on this site for information on schools but have found it very difficult to find out exactly what the catchment areas for good state schools are so that we can secure somewhere to live.  Also, as our Spanish is very minimal at the moment(although we are learning), we are finding it very difficult to read what the reports (in Spanish) say about the schools (it will be state or concertada schools we are interested in) and also to chase up the schools to whom we have already made enquiries who have not yet responded.  Our kids will be 12, 13 and 16 next September and we really need to get out there and enrol in March.

We are also in 2 minds whether to sell up in the UK and buy in Spain or to rent out intitially to make sure we are all happy with the move.  So we would like to get in touch with sales or lettings agents or perhaps some people who would like to rent (or sell) a house (4 bed) privately to a nice family in the area?

Jobswise, both of us will need to work.  I have sales (recruitment) experience and management and Gary has logistics and management experience and is also very practical with DIY and we are looking at getting into property sales, property management or something tourist-related so would like to get in touch with recruitment agencies or anyone with some tips on how to find jobs in the area.

Also, we are bringing our lassie collie - a great big softy with a MASSIVE coat. Should we have him clipped?

We would love to hear from anyone who lives in the area that would like to share a helping hand and the benefit of their knowledge or from anyone else who has made the move and is still smiling!!

Best regards

Julie and Gary

Hi

We have lived in Spain for two and a half years and live in San Javier, Murcia.

Have you moved yet?

If you are still looking for work and any help please let me know.

Kind regards
