Hi 😊

I’m new on the forum and just wanted to say ‘Hi’ to you all. It’s a long story, but the short version is .....

.... we bought a plot of land in Moraira on the Costa Blanca 4 years ago and sold our house here in the UK. We were ready to build and move out there .... but we bottled it!! Now we are thinking of maybe picking up the dream again. I have loads of questions, the answers to which I’ve been busy scouring your fab forum for! One of the main ones is: if you had the services of a window cleaner would you use one?! We have a very successful business here but I’m not sure if it would work in Spain. I’m a PA (no chance there with pigeon spanish I feel!) and also a qualified beauty therapist. Would there be a market for a mobile therapist? Any advice gratefully received!

I’m guessing you all still think that Spain is a good place to be? We loved it a few years ago and I think if we don’t make the move now we will always wonder `what if?’

We also have 2 children, aged nearly 9 and 11. Do you think the eldest would still be able to go to a Spanish school or would the language be too much of a problem now? We all intend to learn but I don’t want to completely traumatise my eldest!!! (I think the younger one will be fine as younger and stronger character!)

Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance for any help or info you are able to give!

Hello!
I am new here too… it does look like a fab forum tho!
I have a friend who lives in Costa de la Luz, she s a hairdresser, and stated off as a mobile one and did very well… obviously you have to sourse your clientelle etc.. but i do think its do-able.. as far as the languages go i can personally say i dont think this would be any problems… im now old (very old 42 feel like 72) but learned Spanish in Spain when i was 8 and English when i was 4… kids pick up VERY easily… its us old codgers who stray behind!

Good luck and i think you should bite the bullet!

Hi Elle and Tezza

Sorry for the delayed response - been ill, probably due to the lovely damp, cold British weather! Thanks for your replies, all info gratefully received. Hopefully we will soon make an informed and rational decision. My daughter is completely against the idea though which doesn’t help. I’m sure she would love it once she had settled in.

Hopefully I’ll ‘chat’ with you again via the forum - no doubt I’ll be posting questions on there frequently!!!

Cheers
