Sold car to local garage in Spain in 2003 and received bills for road tax, etc.    These I paid as if I didnt they got bigger.  Went to see the Garage I sold the car to and they told me the man left with the car without completing the paperwork.  Now I have a bill for 1500 Euros -  would a Solicitor be able to make the Garage pay?

Thanks for you speedy reply.  I’m going to check with the Traffico/Suma and find out exactly how much I owe.  Then I’ll phone the Garage and tell them and explain I don’t want to go to the Police or a Solicitor (as I consider them friends).  If they are not prepared to pay up then I will contact a Solicitor in Spain.  Pity I’m based in the U.K. again!    Thanks for you help.
