My boyfriend (who is Spanish) and I (an American) are moving to Spain in a few months. He will be working, but I will travel there on a tourist visa. We plan to get married shortly after we arrive. What process will I have to go through in order to prepare my papers before getting married and then after we get married? If the post-ceremony paperwork takes longer than 3 months, will I have to leave the country and then come back with a new passport stamp? After we are married and while I’m waiting for my residence paperwork to be approved, will I have access to healthcare or the right to work, or will I have to wait until all of my paperwork has been approved? This is all so complicated! Thanks in advance for your help.
