Hi

I live in Asturias, Northern Spain.
I own a Spanish registered car, it has a current ITV and is registered to my address and I need to pay this years road tax.
Do I wait for a reminder to arrive in the post, as in UK, or do I need to go and pay it in the tax office?

Am I right in thinking the road tax is now due for this year or does it vary from region to region around Spain?

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Hola, I do not know when your time to pay car tax is - in our region (Alicante) its now. You should receive a letter but it may be best to go to your local tax office (ask in Town hall if unsure) and sort it out. The easiest way is to setup a direct debit. Its always best to pay on time and saves interest and fines. Not receiving the letter is no excuse not to pay as clearly stated last week at a SUMA (our tax collecting agency) presentation.
