😊 HI EVERYONE
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE I WANT TO BRING MY BUDGIE WITH ME WHEN I MOVE OUT TO TARIFA IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS. WILL ANYONE STOP ME DOING THIS? I HAVE ENQUIRED WITH DEFRA BUT THEY WERE VERY VAGUE AS I AM NOT A REGISTERED IMPORTER/EXPORTER AS HE IS JUST A PET WILL HE BE CONFISCATED AT THE BORDER I INTEND TO DRIVE DOWN
PLEASE HELP!!

Hi Jane Ann,

You are allowed to bring pets to Spain as long as they are not endangered species. If you are driving, I’m not sure what kind of control they will have anyways….

For certain pets you need to have a veterinarian’s certificate translated into Spanish. You may want to contact your local Spanish consulate or embassy to see if you need that for a budgie.

Make sure your pet has the microchip in his neck before you bring him, without it a vet won’t see him.
