The Alpujarra mountains, straddling the border between Granada and Almeria provinces, is an area of outstanding natural beauty.  So unsurprisingly it’s been discovered, but the expats here are into integration, nature, walking, growing things etc. rather than golf and sunbathing.  There are about 30 odd villages and most of them have one or two ex-pat households, so they are still very much working agricultural communities.  The bigger towns of Cadiar, Orgiva and Ugijar have more foreigners, so you can find help in the English language if you need it, but it’s certainly not overrun.
