Is my pay legal? Tax dodge?

hi all,

I am shortly moving to Barcelona to take up a new job. My new employers are a large multinational company but I am not sure about the taxation because they seem to be suggesting that I only need to declare ?1,100 (which will be taxed around ?100-200) and that the rest would go off-shore to Switzerland.

I can’t imagine the company would risk a huge tax-dodge and have insisted it’s legal but have avoided putting much detail in an email which I find strange.

Perhaps it’s legal but bending the rules? If there is anything wrong would it come back to me or the company? And would it restrict me to any of the social system like healthcare?

Any ideas?

I am based in the UK. The company is HQ’s elsewhere.

thanks for any help

I’m a CPA in the US.  I don’t know much about UK or Spanish tax law, but that just doesn’t sound right to me.  I’d be wary of any company that was suggesting I should get paid in such a manner.
