I leave for Barcelona Saturday where I will work as an au pair and take language classes. I had planned to stay with the family for 9 months (a full school year) and booked my return flight for June. I even thought that I might extend my stay to a year if things went well.
I signed up for a Spanish course at a language school to be eligible for a student visa so that I could improve my Spanish and stay in Spain legally more than the 90 days allotted to tourists. I spent an enormous chunk of time and money on the visa process, which I began July 1.
My visa just arrived today, but it’s the wrong visa. They gave me a 180-day student visa, which according to my extensive online research is under no circumstances renewable!
I’m trying not to freak out. Does anybody have any advice for me? I would appreciate any suggestions! Thank you!
