I have purchased a property in the riviera del sol and would like to pay for my refuse collection as this is the only item I do not have a Direct Debit in place for, I have been advised to go to the Town Hall in La Cala and the Town Hall in Mijas is this a seperate Town or one of the same? If a different place how do I know which one I should go to?

What will I need to take with me to enable payment and future direct debits

How much per annum does it roughly cost?

Can I do it from the UK or do I have to visit in person the Town Hall?

Any help gratefully appreciated - as I’m learning Spanish but I’m not too good and worry by going in person I may not understand or be understood.

Many thanks

Liz

Hello Liz you can pay in either place, La Cala is closer ( its in the old infant school near the beach). They are open from about 09.30 to 13..00 weekdays. You normally pay IBA and basura together ( basura is the bins, IBA is council tax (?)) someone pls correct me if I’m wrong.  If you take your escritura or empadron or just tell them your address they’ll gladly accept your money !
We paid 66 euros for basura and 277 for IBA this year.
