We have been renting in Spain for the past 2 years and have a Kangoo, 125cc motorcycle and a 50cc scooter. It looks like we may well be moving on next year, and we are now faced with the question of what to do with our spanish registered vehicles. We do not particularly want to sell any of the vehicles before we go. What concerns me is that if we leave, there will be SUMA (impuesto) due on each vehicle when we go, and we do not know if and when we will return. What we do not want to do is incur outstanding fines to greet us when and if we do return to Spain. Although we do have a Spanish bank account, one might suggest we simply set up direct debits for each vehicle, the suma’s are not expensive, but I was wondering about the legal position. Anyone any idea’s or has anyone done this already?
