Hi everyone, after many years of thinking, and the benefit of a relative moving to the costa blanca, we have decided to take the leap and move down to spain.

Now i know there are many people that will say “why, everyone is moving back to the uk”, but i think that it cant be worse than it is here, and we are now in the postion where we can come down still keep our capital in the property we have here.

we feel this means we can take the risk, give ourselves 2 years to try to intergrate and get to know if it is want we realy want.

So the plan is to bring my wife, our 8 year old daughter and 6 year old son to the Orihuela area.

Im a web developer, and IT Contractor, ill be retaining a certain amount of online work from the uk, and will offer my services on a self employed basis.

My wife is a Lecturer in Beauty, and plans on starting a small mobile beauty therapy business.

We want to put the children into one of the local spanish schools, and would appreciate any advice on the local schools around San Miguel e.g. torromendo.

Anyway this is just to say hi and im looking forward to getting down to sort the legallities and school out before the summer gets here.

i would appreciate that there are many different views on life in spain and would like to here from people in a similar position as us.

why not come down for few day befor you ship the hole lot out here and you ground work will pay off in the short and long term ... looking for some where to live and schools aswell , list off school in the area will fine out for you ...... web/IT lot out here but not mnay good guys , would say few cowboys around ..... if you good at you work , you be used down here ..... know our IT done via irish office ....  same as the web papges via comapny call Bridge Media ie

Thanks for the feedback, we were down at christmas, we were suposed to be there this week, now it will be april to get the legal stuff done and find the rental.

im a pro web developer, have been for 10 years, i dont work out of my bedroom, im a contractor, and have worked for microsoft, barclays, BP and the FA to name a few, in all fairness i now work in a small office in my home town, because i was sick of the travel…

if anyone has any Q’s to do with the web, im always happy to help.

we’ve been looking to move for four years now, and for me it cant come quick enough….
