I am an American and I am currently in Spain. I have an employer that is willing to offer me a contract and help me get my working permit and residency.
Is there any way that I can have everything done from here in Spain? It seems silly that I have to come to Spain to look for a job, then once I find one I have got to return to the states before coming back to Spain to start work.

Thanks

Hi, I am Australian also in spain with a job offer under the same circumstances as you. I have seen a lawyer here and unfortunately they have offered me no options to remain here while specifically obtaining the work visa. it seems non-EU nationals must get the visa in their place of origin only. There are always other options and avenues in spain though depending on your circumstances, i have hopefully worked out a way to at least stay past the 90 days shengan visa but am not permitted to work.

I suggest seeking advice from a lawyer to see if there is any other way you can get temporary residency however for the visa to physically be put into your passport you will need to have it done at home.

Good luck.
