Firstly a big hello to all ! I often read posts on this forum on various issues on life in Spain but today ive registered and created my first post!
Im currently based in Malaga province, near Gibraltar, where i work. I feel that in order to get the right response i need to give you a little insight to my lifestyle. I currently live in a lovely 3 bed appartment in a secured complex with pool and all the little extras. I pay just over ?1000 pcm including internet and all other bills. I drive 30 mins to work each day where i work for a British company, earning GBP. all in all, its a very comfortable life.
So anyway, ive been offered a job in Barcelona and i dont know if this could be a dream move (increase in wages and job profile) or if it will turn out to be a nightmare! Ive never been to Barcelona and never lived in such a big city (except Amsterdam for 2 years which is not really a big city like London or Paris for example)
Is there anybody out there can advise me on life within Barcelona. would want to be reasonably near the centre but cant afford the rent being quoted by some of 2.5k-3.5k pcm.
Has anybody been in a similar postion to me? has there moved turned out well? or not? and how do you think a `country bumpkin` like me would settle into life in Barca?
