What’s a calm city to visit in Spain?
Like, without all the partiing into the night.
Don’t get me wrong, I like a good party but not all night.  And I don’t drink.
So what’s a good calm city in Spain without all the night life?
Like I guess you would say a traditional city in Spain.  Forgive me if that is the wrong terms.

And it has to be a city that speaks Spanish.  I’m trying to
brush up on Spanish.  Not Catillon.

I’m not saying I don’t like to party, because I do, I just don’t drink…. that’s alcohol.

Well I?m in Menorca and I don?t think a calmer place exists - especially now with the credit crunch.  They do speak Catalan here although Spanish is also spoken by practically everyone as there?s a lot of people who are from the mainland, etc.  It?s not a city, it?s an island but if you?re looking for “calm”, this is the place to be!

So I wouldn’t have any trouble speaking to them if I knew Spanish really well?  Is that what your saying?

Catalan is Spanish, almost, its easy to understand if you speak good Spanish.

How else do you think Spaniards manage.

Catalans will speak Spanish to outsiders, they may even speak english to you.

Drinking and partying in Spain Are two different things.

Spaniards will be in the streets late, there not partying, they just enjoy the cool temp of the nights to be social.

Only foreigners run around in the daytime, getting all hot and sunburn`t.

People will be out drinking all types, some alcoholic others coffees and fruit drinks.

Its normal to be in a bar at 2am drinking non alcoholic drinks.

Yummy Coffee and fruit drinks.  YUM!  So I guess I should get really good at Spanish.  I don’t want to be considered   an outsider.

I’ve heard that they don’t like foreigners?  Do they consider all foreigners outsiders?  Or does it just take time to be accepted into one of their groups of friends?

Cordoba is located in the southern portion of Spain known as Andalucia. The city is quite modern while at the same time having many well know monuments. The weather is warm throughout the year which is typical of Andalucia.

There are good and bad everywhere.

Spaniards are generally friendly to foreigners, there social creatures and of course being part animal can mean there are there social groups and herd’s.

Generally though most are fine, but a Spaniard, my OH, informed me when i was moaning about work collegues, informed me that whilst there nice to my face, they wouldn`t pee on me if i was on fire.

In the work place though there is competition to be best and ultimately stay employed, me being the guiri had to compete extra hard to stay noticed.

My OH gained friends in the town we live, they speak when we are together, but I`ve been ignored when out on my own. When my wife is not with me the best i get is a Hola, nothing more and there always in a hurry to carry on walking past.

I`m from the Gran Puta, apparently i was once informed by a friendly neighbour and that I should return to her, as soon as possible.
