It all seems terribly complicated to me, but so far I have just gone in and out of Spain as a tourist.  I don’t really need to live there permanently, although it appeals to me.  My fianc? unfortunately is a francophile…

Anyway, I’m from Colorado and lived in New Mexico for several years.  You’d think that my spanish would be better, as there are so many in that part of the world who speak it natively, but it’s not really that great.  I have a hard time understanding what people are saying in Spain, although generally I can read things okay.

I’m an archaeologist who is studying at a UK university (my supervisor is Spanish).  My research at the moment is the prehistoric rock art (arte rupestre) of Murcia.  I’ve no idea what I am going to do when I grow up, but as this is the last degree I can realistically get, I’d better think of something soon!
