Hi;

If you are talking 1100 euros per month, probably not…

In the more popular places along the coast it’ll cost you that in rent alone…

If you have cash set aside for property purchase then I’d say yes at a push…but only inland…

It ain’t cheap here anymore…

Thanks for your rapid reply.I’m not looking to live on the beach in crowded areas.I found a very nice looking apt in the Denia area for 400 euros per month, that would suit me.Also i’m not high maintenance.I’m not a Boozer.I do like the beach, but realize i cant afford to live there.Hopefully i can hook up with someone to share with.[Maybe a cool lady].Thanks again.

In which case I would say go for it!

Its even on the beach!

Denia is a long way from where I live, but I do know from other forums that there is quite a high percentage of Brits in the area.

Also good (if expensive) ferry links to Palma, Ibiza and Formentera.

This site may be of some interest in this connection…

http://www.balearia.ferries.org/?gclid=CJPgptTqlJwCFVUA4wodHxwjeA its part of the ferry company’s website.

Hope this helps…

You’ve been very helpful. Thanks again. The apt in Denia is about 5km from the beach,i walk that every morning here, and work out 3 days per week.So i’m pretty fit for an old fart.

In the current climate I`d say the apt was either a fake or not as attractive as you would want.

There is a lot of property for rental and prices have reduced, but too 400.00 euros and it wasn`t snapped up in a few days i`d bet money there is an issue with it.

Site`s make money from visitor numbers, the more attractive the site, the more visits = more cash for the owners.

Facts on the net are rare.

I would make a trip to Spain and view properties first hand, if you are coming with no means to return home on the hope you can get a cheap flat in a reasonable ares, i`d advise you think hard about it first.

Although a landlord would wish to rent, they rarely rent at a loss, most prefer to leave empty than only just cover the mortgage, especially when there is risk of damage etc from bad tenants, low rentals are usually ignored.
