I have a question for the knowledgeable. I run a biz in a few European countries, one of which is Spain. We rent (our own) apartments short term to holidaymakers in Barcelona and Madrid.

In Spain the VAT rate on that is 7% as it’s a hotel service. However, this year, crisis an’ all we’ve decided to do extended stay to boost our appeal. In some countries in the EU long term rentals carry no VAT. I can’t find any info on that on the web. Anyone know the Spanish situation?

Sorry to bother you but my accountant is a bit of a cowboy and I’d like to check if anyone knows for sure.
