The site search did not produce any hits on this topic so either no one is interested or its a first! What the Brits know as the MOT system is called ITV (nothing to do with television) in Spain. Its the vehicle road worthiness inspection. The first one is due on the cars 4th birthday then its every other year (ie you need to get it done every 2 years) until the car is 10 years old then it becomes annual. Take the car and its papers to any ITV station (NOT a garage) they are government run outfits and they will do the checks. You might be surprised at the technology - including the guy going down the pit to inspect underneath and you get to see as well via a camera! Cost ? 58 EUROS and 5 cents! What happens if it fails and you need a retest . Sorry I pass becaused my car passed! I now have a little sticker displayed proudly on the windscreen. Thats how it works in the Valencia region…...
