Hi everyone,

Just a quick question regarding setting up catering van businesses! A friend and I are looking to set up our own burger/fish and chip van in or around the town of Almeria, and I want to know what sort of permits or licences are required and how you would go about obtaining them. I’ve been searching for information on this for a while now, but to no avail!

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Ryan - as no one else has replied, I offer you this. The whole culture of vans and food is not so big over here. I heard it was because of the climate, the set up with bars here etc etc makes this idea probably a bit difficult and maybe even impossible. But why not take proper advice - start with the Almeria town hall.

Good luck I always like to see new ventures succeed but not everything UK works here…..

Almeria has a really sophisticated food culture with great tapas included in the price of a drink in most bars, and chiringuito beach restaurants in the Summer serving great fried fish.  If your van was going to work in Spain, I don’t think Almeria would be the city for it. Maybe up or down the coast a bit!
