Hello,
I basically was living in Germany for 4 years, 3 of which were legally under legal terms, as a language school student. The last year i had overstayed my visa. Essentially i wanted to make arrangements to leave so i went to the office to find out what to do, because i really didnt want to be illegal anymore and i didnt want to risk greater consequences. this ultimately ended with a deportation. The man who actually took care of my deportation, assured me what was happening to me is this:
you have to leave, you do not get to choose when, we take care of your flight arrangements.
you will have to reimburse the amount of your flight, after that you will immediately be allowed to return to germany, but untill then or if you choose not to pay the fees. you are not allowed to return to GERMANY. this ban is ONLY for germany he assured me, adding extra, that i could theoretically return the next day to another country in europe since the time my visa had expired was already a year prior..
you can pay the fees easily at the german consulate in NY
well i found out the last detail wasnt true when i went to the consulate, to try to take care of the fees and recieved blank stares.. Now just by explicitly calling and asking to have my record checked in germany.. i realize im apparently banned for re-entry in the schengen countries. (for how long they havent told me yet) My passport absolutely no markings that i was “deported” but in the german computer system i am “banned”.
My confusion lies in the fact that i have consistantly been told so much contradictory information from different branches of german bureocracy, that its obvious in germany the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. Clearly im marked for germany.
i would like to return to spain, this time spain, for an honest visit. it has been over 4 months since i returned to the USA. I will purchase round trip tickets and such, but since speaking with the office in germany, i am very confused as to whether i will no be allowed to re-enter spain. im persuing this further with the german government, but i also recieved no formal documentation of the nature of my expulsion, i am also contacting them trying to resolve the issue. Should i contact the spanish embassy and ask? is there a way they could check to see if i come up on record in spain? thanks for the help!
