I would like to record my friends? performance; they?re a musical duo. I think their chances of getting bookings would be much improved if they were to have a youtube video of a piece being played.

I gather that like most things it can be pretty basic; a digital camera and a little know-how. But I would like it to be a little professional without spending too much. Any input would be welcome.

Well the sky’s the limit on how creative you want to be. The camera doesn’t have to be be very good, after all its going on youtube! I would get your ideas from other videos on youtube. If you are going to take it seriously it could take days of work, the more footage you have the better, also will you need to learn how to edit.

I guess you are a windows user, I’m on a Mac. Not sure what the best software for editing video on windows is, iMovie on the Mac is great.
