My company has asked if I want to take a project post in Madrid for 4 months. They have only given me a small amount of time to make my decision. My problem is that in 1999 I was arrested with a friend for criminal damage. This act is something I was ashamed of and wished never had happened. Following a night in the cells we were released and had to pay a large sum to get our passports back. In 2001 my friend was contacted by police to ask to attend a court hearing in Spain which we think is related to the aforementioned incident. I was never contacted by Police and neither of us went to Spain. I have never returned to Spain since the arrest but I was trying to get information to see if I am ok to enter Spain again. The last thing I want on the first day of the project assignment is to be arrested!!

Any help anybody?

Need two get in touch with a lawer in the Area , town you got locked up in and fine out is there arrest warrants out standing , you can ask your loacl Embessy
And yes if so you will be locked up at point of Entry .
If you think that you might have active arrest warrants out on you then the last thing you should do is ask a police officer because he might just arrest you on the spot. It’s much better if you find out discretely and confidentially by yourself so that you can do something about it before it gets out of hand .
