I?m Australian, living in Spain where i?ve been for almost 5 years, on and off, mostly on. My boyfriend is South American but has residency in Spain, not a citizen as yet. I?ve been empadronised for over 4 years, have a contract offer of work and qualify for applying for residency por arraigo. All of it sounds fine however the mixed information i?m getting is that as an Australian i can?t apply for residency in Spain, from Spain. I have my police report, all stamped and translated. In fact, all paper work is in order, i have a lawyer who seems to think we?re on track so i guess my question is: are there any other Australians out there who have applied for residency por arraigo and have been successful or not?

Q 2. What happens if application is denied?

Q 3. If i was to marry my boyfriend does anyone know i qualify for residency even if he is not a Spanish citizen but a resident?

Any advice, help (from other countries as well!) would be fab.
