I am a freelance copywriter currently working and living in the UK (I am British). I am considering a move to Spain, where I would continue with my copywriting. However, this is the first time I have looked into this and wanted to ask a few questions - I would be grateful for any help that anyone could provide:

1) I earn around ?21,000 (GBP) per year from my copywriting, and wondered how much tax I would pay on this (percentage) and whether I would pay tax to the Spanish government or continue paying to the UK government

2) Would there be other monthly/quarterly costs to pay? I read something about social security payments

3) I was looking at places such as Murcia to move to but am reliant on a fairly good broadband service - is there likely to be a choice of providers in this area?

4) What is the cost of living like in Spain compared to England?

5) I read that a lot of British expats who were working freelance in Spain had sold up and moved home - was this because of lack of business or have there been some regulatory changes in Spain that may have caused this?
