Hello,

My name is Max.  I have been involved with a woman from Spain for nearly 5 years now.  We recently got married here in the USA and we are hoping to gain legal status in both countries.  For the moment, we are focussing on me gaining legal status there (Spain).

I was told to handle the process through the Spanish consulate here in Boston, however they seem to be very busy and difficult to get answers from.  So, I was hoping I could get some pointers from people here.

I have already acquired some of the documentation I understand is necessary to the process (birth certificate, single-status) and I am awaiting the marriage certificate as we speak.  Once I have that, I plan to bring it to the Apostille here in Boston to get the seal.

Beyond this, I have no idea what to do.  Is there a standard form/paperwork I can download for emigrating to Spain?

Also, I plan to visit my wife in late June.  I am worried that the process will not be finished by the time I leave.  Should this be of concern or is it possible to complete it while I am in Spain?
