Hi all, newbie here in need of much help if possible please!
My hubbys family live in Malaga and have done for a few years now. Mother fell ill so he visited last minute alone-and was arrested at the airport! Discovered he had an unpaid speeding fine from years ago and was taken into custody. He was in court the next day and fined. He did not have 650euros on him so was given bank details etc of where to pay etc or risk of imprisonment. His return flight was the same day so he left money with his relative to pay for him and left-this was in 2008.
We have just discovered that the money was spent and the fine was not paid!!! AAAAhhhh, mom in law ill-unable to go over due to fear of imprisonment now! Sooo angry! What can we do? How can we speak to someone about this? whom? any ideas folks! This is terrible!!!
Luckily I kept the copy of the fine etc to refer to, Juzgado de lo penal, numero 1 de malaga, the original fine was in 2002, instructions were to go to a Banesto with an account number only, any help/guidance most grateful, thankyou!!
