Needless to say, I am FRUSTRATED with Spain! I am native South African and I can tell you Spain is further behind than we are in RSA!
I got my NIE in April, after alot of trouble. The office for non EU foraigners, in Malaga sayed they needed to keep my original marriedge Certificate “because the boss is not at the office”. Aparently the “boss” needed to tell the man who was taking care of my aplication, that our marriedge certificate is legal…The norm is for a certificate to be apostillized, but we had a intenational marriedge certificate, in all languages. We did our research, and the document is recognised in Spain.
So the helpfull man at the desk told us, he will send us n letter within a month to come and pick up the resedincy card and the marriedge certificate… 2 months later, we still havent heard any thing. My employer whould like to put me on a contract but we need the marriedge certificate for applying for social security.
So we tryed standing in line for 6 hours and when we got to the front, we tryed our best to comunicate with the Spanish lady (speaking only 1 language). Frustration grew and time for her to go home, came closer. A guardian angel came out of no where and translated for us. The end of the story is we have to fill in a piece of paper (of corse) and go stand in line another day (of corse) but if we get the marriedge certificate back, aparently my aplication for residency would come to a halt because of in complete documentation! That was the translation!
I dont know what whay to go! I cant aford a lawyer or a translater! Any advice would be helpull! Please!
How do I get my marriedge certificate back and folow through with my applycation for a residency card?
I know this is complicated and technical, but if you got any advice, please help me!
Please ignore my spelling, thanx to slooooow conection! :(
