Im not sure if anyone can help me on this, but Ive been renting a bar and pool bar in Lanzarote for 5 months, Ive paid the rent religeously on the 1 st of e very month. We took the bar on under unusal circumstances, in as much we were originally partners with the spanish man who had the lease under his name. He left the scene, his lease was cancelled bu the owners wnated us to stay on. However, they are now asking for a deposit, which farankly we can not afford. My understanding is that as we are now in situ, they can not demand a deposit, and they cannot evict us because we have been paying the rent. we have had advice to that effect, but not from a lawyer, only a historia. we are seein a lawyer monday, but im just wondering if anyone here has any ideas.
