i am starting to learn spanish , planing to have the basics in a year.
then we wanna move to barcelona.

since it seems wise to get a job first, I was wondering what experience people have:

-in barcelona
-IT field (system/network/security engineer)
-approximate pay/benefits
-any good employment agencies/headhunters specialising in IT
-not fluent in spanish

thanks

We are looking for developers and a sys. admin, but we are located in Seville. Although we are in Spain, our clients are in 22 countries, and our primary source of revenue is the US. For that reason, we speak English in the office and all of the code is in English. If you would like to work for a small but rapidly growing, Silicon-Valley-type software company, reply to this post and I’ll give you more information as to what we are looking for.

Erica

I read with interest your post about your company having vacancies in Seville. I am a Business Systems Analyst and mainframe developer looking to relocate to Spain, preferably the south but I also love Seville. Can I send you my CV?

Thanks

Hi All,

I have gotten a few excellent resumes from forum members due to this post. Since there seems to be quite a few people interested in IT jobs in Spain, I thought I would be a little more specific as to what type of people we are looking for. In addition to ‘the basics’ (great attitude, passion for software, responsible, fun to work with, etc), we are specifically looking for both developers and a systems administrator with significant experience with Linux and open source software. Being a contributor to one or more open source projects would be a huge plus. If any one is interested, I would be happy to share more about my company and what we do in a private conversation.

Cheers!
