My passport will soon be up for renewal, and in the meantime, I will be changing my surname as I am getting married. So I am trying to find out which forms I need to complete. I can find info on which renewal form to use, but not how to renew and change name at the same time. I have tried calling the British Consulate, who said that I needed to call the passport helpline in Madrid, who kept me on hold for 7 minutes before I finally hung up as they were were clocking up call charges of well over a Euro per minute ! It would be easier and a lot cheaper for me to renew my passport via the UK, but I am not sure if this is legal, as I am living in the Canaries. !  I am going round in circles as when I ask the same questions to a Spanish person, I am just told that they dont know as they do not change names when getting married !
Has anyone else been in the same position.

Thanks for that Rob, but these links only take me back to the C1 form, that asks, Have you changed your name OTHER than Marriage or adoption.  And of course, my answer to that would be no, so where do I enter my new married name.  Am I being really daft here and missing something, or is there another form I would have to fill in, in which case, maybe having to pay the fee twice to do this separately !
