hello I’m new to the forum.
We are an australian family of 6 living in Serbia. We have four weeks ago applied for a non lucrative visa for Spain. Since lodging our application we have heard nothing and are becoming impatient. I know it can take up to 3 months. Do we just have to sit and wait it out. Does anybody know the process involved eg. lodge application at Spanish embassy in Belgrade Serbia and from there where does it go to in Spain. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Jurdy thanks for that information.

So I have to ring the Australian Embassy in Madrid to track down the visa application? Is that correct?

Yes I realise we are ‘outside the box’. Story is we’ve been living in Belgrade Serbia for nearly 2 years. My husband was born here but left Serbia when he was 3 for Australia. He hasn’t lived here for over 40 years. Our children and myself are Australian (children have Australian and Serbian passports and I am here on a visa). That is why we lodged our application with the Spanish Embassy here in Belgrade but have applied for it under our Australian passorts. We visited Spain on a holiday in January and really liked it and thought we’d like to try to live there for 12 months or more as it was very similar to Australia - beaches, scenery. lifestyle etc. We have used a Spanish solicitor (one recomended on your site).

Anyways, thanks again for your assistance. And I’ll keep you up to date.

Regards
