Hello…

I am moving to Spain to live somewhat of a nomadic lifestyle, to hike the big trails and then see what happens.

Where can I find lotsa hippies in Spain? Bohemian lifestyles, nomadically inclined, progressive ideas, alternative societies, etc.?

Thanks for any help.

Try Mojacar (near Almeria) there has been hippy types around there since the 70s.

Tarifa in Cadiz also has a community of people I consider hippies.

If you really must, then Orgiva in Granada is hippy central.

Ibiza has many hippies. Particularly in the north. http://www.google.es/search?hl=es&lr=lang_en&safe=off&q=hippies+northern+ibiza&start=0&sa=N

Hi, I also am looking for an area in Spain that may be on the same lines although I wouldn?t necessarily refer it to Hippy but rather people working at raising their awarenes consciously seeking spiritual growth. Could someone let me know if the areas mentioned in this post qualify. I am at the moment in Finisterre Galicia and looking to move somewhere temporarily to perhaps do a book club of self help as an exchange for meeting like minded people. Would the Orgiva area be the place?

Tijax.. you could still try Orgiva (don’t know if they have a book club tho 😉
We are in the ‘quaint’ village of Mijas - just inland from Fuengirola.  I have many spiritually inclined friends here.
Coin also has its share of ‘alternatives’.
I am very happy here and there is also the self-awareness/development goup in Monda area.

Lots of people here if you know where to look 😉

Come and give us a try 😉

PS - Yurt available to rent in Monda I remember 😉

Look in LA CHISPA - magazine.. you will see what I mean 😉

Love and Light,
SJ

Thanks SJ, your few words were exactly what I needed to hear to convince me that this area is the place to experience. I hope to be coming at some point in Januray, the yurt may be an option but may also be too large for one person especially in the winter season.

If you know of anything small and affordable please let me know. Meanwhile hope we can hook up once I?m settled.
I reflect back to you the light and love I received.

Or try Trafalgar, further along down the coast from Tarifa.

Si, Si - Tarifa has a lot of alternatives….
As does Gaucin and Jimena de la Frontera if you don’t mind being inland.
Tip - AVOID - Castellar de la Frontera (unless you are into Germans and drugs??!!!)  Not dis’ing the place, a friend lives there
(or rather OUTSIDE) the village.  Her neighbours are often arrested???!!!

Good luck 😊
